Hi, today I’m going to review Profit First by Mike Michalowicz.
It’s an excellent book and it gives you a very common sense approach toward how to handle money in your business.
I think this would work for any business. If writing is a one-person business, this book is just as applicable to that business as to any other. I mean, honestly, any entrepreneur would benefit from it.
Essentially, it’s taking the old “setting money aside in an envelope” approach and using it with bank accounts and following a formula that I can’t recreate off the top of my head, but you have to sit down with the charts and look at it. And it’s all described in the book and it’s all very sensible.
I want to get a copy of this book for myself, but I got this from the library and I’m glad I did. So, if you are self-employed or want to have your own business, I highly recommend this book, Profit First. Profit First: Transform Your Business from a Cash-Eating Monster to a Money-Making Machine. It’s a nice title, and I think it lives up to it.
